Genesis10 is currently seeking a Cloud Data Platform Engineer (AWS) for an on-site contract-to-hire position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH. This is an 8+ month contract-to-hire opportunity. Pay Rate: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour. W2 only, no C2C. Description: We are seeking a Senior AWS Data Platform Engineer to help build, support, and optimize the infrastructure powering our enterprise data platform and data catalog environment. This role will focus on cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform integration, supporting tools such as Alation or similar data catalog platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on cloud infrastructure engineer who understands how data platforms operate in modern cloud environments. You will partner with data engineering, governance, and architecture teams to ensure the data catalog and surrounding data ecosystem are scalable, secure, and well-integrated across enterprise systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AWS infrastructure experience who enjoys working closely with data platforms, governance tooling, and enterprise data architecture. Responsibilities: Cloud & Platform Infrastructure Design, deploy, and support AWS infrastructure for enterprise data platform services. Configure and manage AWS services including EC2, EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, S3, and EFS Implement and maintain networking components such as VPCs, private subnets, NAT gateways, route tables, and load balancers. Ensure reliable and secure connectivity between the data catalog platform and enterprise data sources. Data Catalog Platform Support Administer and support enterprise data catalog platforms such as Alation, Atlan, or similar tools. Configure metadata ingestion pipelines and integrations with enterprise data sources Manage catalog connectivity to data warehouses, databases, and cloud data platforms. Security & Identity Implement and manage IAM roles, policies, and access controls aligned with least-privilege principles. Integrate the data catalog platform with enterprise SSO solutions (SAML / OIDC) Manage security controls, including TLS certificates, encryption keys (KMS), and secure access configurations. Integration & Connectivity Partner with infrastructure, security, and data teams to configure connectivity between the catalog and data sources Support integrations with systems such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, SQL Server, and other enterprise databases Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues affecting data discovery and catalog operations Platform Optimization & Automation Monitor platform health, performance, and system availability. Automate infrastructure and catalog administration tasks using APIs, scripting, or infrastructure automation Evaluate new features and enhancements in catalog platforms and recommend improvements. Collaboration Work closely with data governance, data engineering, and architecture teams to support enterprise data initiatives. Help improve data discoverability, lineage visibility, and metadata management across the organization. Support onboarding and enablement of users adopting the data catalog platform.
