Amergis Certified Paraprofessional / Behavior Technician in Griffin, Georgia

Behavior Technician (School Setting)

Contract | Full-Time | Weekdays | 37.5 hrs/week

Start Date: March 16, 2026

Contract Length: 3 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Behavior Technicians to provide educational and behavioral support to children and young adults with special needs in a school-based setting. This role involves working collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and behavioral specialists to help students achieve individualized learning and behavioral goals.

Assignments include supporting autistic and EBD (Emotional & Behavioral Disorder) students in self-contained classrooms, including 5 elementary classrooms and 2 transitional K–12 classrooms. No charting system is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of educational and behavioral plans for students with special needs.

  • Assist in maintaining a structured, supportive classroom environment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and behavioral specialists.

  • Provide one-on-one or small-group support as needed.

  • Promote positive behavior strategies and help students achieve learning goals.

    Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be certified through the GaPSC — absolutely required (no exceptions).

  • ABA or classroom experience required.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Two (2) years of pediatric experience preferred.

  • Current CPR certification (if applicable).

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable).

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
