Shift: Monday – Friday | 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Pay Rate: $19/hour (W2)
We are seeking a “Lab Tech Jr.” to join one of our leading healthcare clients.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Junior Laboratory Technician within a Toxicology Laboratory environment. In this role, you will perform screening and initial analysis of urine and oral fluid specimens for substances of abuse, in accordance with SAMHSA guidelines and other regulatory standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain screening instruments used for initial analysis of donor specimens and quality control samples.
Perform testing using laboratory equipment such as refractometers and pH meters.
Apply knowledge of screening and specimen validity test methods, including EIA, CEDIA, ELISA, refractometry, and pH measurement.
Conduct initial review and interpretation of test results.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to screening instruments and testing processes.
Ensure strict adherence to security procedures to maintain confidentiality of donor information.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and established operational guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related Life Sciences field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of analytical laboratory techniques and procedures.
Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and testing methodologies.
Knowledge of regulatory standards including SAMHSA, CAP-FDT, and related guidelines.
Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and other laboratory software.
Core Competencies:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and perform tasks requiring full body movement.
Adequate vision and hearing (with correction if necessary) to meet job requirements.
Strong mathematical and reasoning skills to interpret data and follow laboratory procedures.
Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs, Federal (49 CFR Part 40), and CAP-FDT guidelines.
Effective communication skills with team members and supervisors.
Ability to work under pressure and manage workload in a production-driven environment.
Willingness to work in an environment with potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials.
