Position Summary A Plastic Press Operator sets up, operates, and monitors plastic molding or pressing machinery to produce quality parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to identify defects in finished products.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plastic press or molding machines according to production requirements.
- Load raw plastic materials into machines and unload completed parts.
- Adjust machine controls, such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time, to maintain product quality.
- Inspect finished parts for defects, including deformities, surface flaws, or dimensional inaccuracies.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, templates, or rulers to confirm conformance to specifications.
- Record production data, machine settings, and any issues encountered during shifts.
- Perform basic machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
- Follow all plant safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area.
- Communicate production issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
