GE Vernova Lead Logistics Specialist in Greenville, South Carolina

Job Description Summary

The Lead Commodity Specialist Logistics is responsible for leading and executing strategic sourcing activities for the Logistics spend with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions and year-over-year continuous improvement while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. This includes working with the Global Sourcing Leader Logistics and the Gas Power Logistics organization to develop strategies to reduce total cost of ownership – including carrier management, warehousing, and governance/compliance. The Lead Commodity Specialist will partner with functional stakeholders in Business Sourcing, Supply Chain, Operations, and other groups to identify sourcing needs, determine supplier and demand management strategies, execute sourcing events, and drive organizational processes and compliance.

Job Description

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned modes of transport

  • Drive annual productivity improvements;

  • Execute end-to-end Sourcing process: strategy, market analysis, negotiation process, carrier selection, and contract creation;

  • Track performance of key Logistics Service Providers in Safety, Quality, and Delivery;

  • Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance;

  • Drive best practices

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement mode and carrier strategies

  • Drive value through carrier relationship management; Uphold internal and external policies, regulations, and laws.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (Business or Supply Chain preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Logistics, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, or equivalent consulting experience

  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing)

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering

  • Collaborative mindset in working across functional areas

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills (spend analytics, should-cost analysis, market R&I)

  • Logistics experience

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Demonstrated negotiations skills

  • Aggressive self-starter

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience with RFQ implementation and execution

  • History with supply base consolidation

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $86,300.00 and $143,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
