THIEL COLLEGE Post Office Assistant in Greenville, Pennsylvania

Thiel College is currently seeking a Post Office Assistant position (part-time) to assist in general operations of campus post office providing excellent customer service to students, faculty and staff.  

This position is responsible for performing various day-to-day support of campus-wide mail and package operations for Thiel College, ensuring timely, accurate processing and delivery of USPS, UPS, and Amazon items. 

Knowledge: • Efficient office procedures and current postal/shipping technologies and equipment Skills: • Proficiency with computers and office software  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Accurate data entry and recordkeeping • Discretion, independent judgment, and confidentiality 

Abilities: • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, reliability, and attention to detail • Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately

Working Conditions: • Campus mailroom and office setting with routine delivery routes to campus buildings • Standard part-time office hours Monday--Friday; occasional additional hours during high-volume periods (e.g., semester start/end, holidays)

Physical Requirements: • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly • Frequent standing, walking (indoors and outdoors), bending, reaching, and stretching • Repetitive keyboard activity and manual dexterity for equipment operation • Ability to work in varying weather conditions during outdoor delivery routes between campus buildings

Qualifications:

Education: • High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience: • One to five years of office or customer service experience required • Prior mailroom, shipping/receiving, or data entry experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications: • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required for campus mail transport

Background Check: • Successful completion of a background check required prior to employment
