Job purpose
The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations in a build-to-print, low-volume, high-mix aerospace and commercial component manufacturing environment. This role ensures the safe, high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective production of complex cast and machined components that meet stringent customer specifications, regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, FAA, NADCAP), and internal standards.
The supervisor leads a team of assigned departments, driving performance across SQDCP metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People. Emphasis is on lean manufacturing principles, safety always, quality production to customer specifications, continuous improvement, flexibility for varied custom jobs, and maintaining tight tolerances and traceability (where required) critical to aviation parts.

``` - Champion a zero-incident culture; conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and daily/weekly safety briefings. - Ensure compliance with OSHA and company EHS policies. - Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote safe work practices in casting (e.g., handling molten materials, furnaces) and machining areas. - Support Job Safety Analysis creation as needed.

``` - Oversee production to meet build-to-print specifications, engineering drawings, and quality standards for assigned areas. - Lead root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions (RCCA/CAPA), and non-conformance disposition. - Coordinate with Quality Assurance for inspections, certifications, and audits; ensure full traceability and documentation where required.

``` - Manage production scheduling and workflow in a high-mix, low-volume setting to meet customer due dates and on-time delivery targets. - Prioritize jobs, allocate resources, and adjust for changing customer requirements or rush orders typical in aviation aftermarket or custom programs. - Monitor bottlenecks in assigned areas to maximize uptime for production capacity.

``` - Control labor, material, and scrap costs; track and reduce variances while improving efficiency. - Drive lean initiatives (6S, Kaizen, standard work, visual management) to optimize cycle times, setup reductions (SMED), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). - Use SQDCP/SQCDP boards for daily shop floor management, problem solving, and performance tracking - Leadership & Team Management - Directly supervise, coach, and develop 30+ hourly employees, multi-department/shift (depending on shift/scale), including, training, cross-training, performance reviews, scheduling, and progressive discipline. - Conduct daily stand-up meetings, assign work, and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture with utilization of Team Leader assistance. - Interview, hire, and onboard new team members as needed.

Qualifications
B.S. in Operations, Business, Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical discipline preferred.
