GREENFIELD Design Engineer Position Summary The Design Engineer at BETE applies creativity and sound engineering principles to develop innovative product solutions for customers facing complex fluid spray process challenges across a wide range of critical industrial applications. This role contributes to continuous product and process improvement, supporting world-class manufacturing quality and customer service within a dynamic and growing organization. Key Responsibilities Participate in the full product development life cycle as a member of the Design team. Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, Sales, Applications Engineering, Quality, R&D, and Manufacturing to develop effective solutions to spray process challenges. Provide technical expertise to support manufacturing processes including CNC machining (alloys and polymers), investment casting, and welding of various alloys. Design, develop, and test prototypes; analyze performance data; prepare technical documentation; and recommend design improvements for new and existing products. Identify opportunities to standardize product lines, enhance performance, and reduce production costs. Utilize advanced internal resources, including spray laboratory facilities, rapid prototyping equipment, and dedicated machining centers to strengthen the technical foundation of product designs. Required Interpersonal Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams. Technical writing proficiency, including preparation of project scopes, experimental reports, and design documentation. Required Technical Skills Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and engineering problem-solving ability. Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Auto Desk Inventor preferred) and Microsoft Office applications. Solid understanding of design-for-manufacturing principles and common manufacturing processes. Ability to identify process improvements and resolve complex technical challenges. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality output. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of fluid dynamics and experience in research and development environments. Familiarity with CAD/CAM manufacturing systems. Experience with pressure piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3) and welded assembly design. Performance Expectations Demonstrated ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts effectively with customers, colleagues, and sales partners. Capability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and accurately. Advanced knowledge of assigned product lines. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional discretion. Education & Experience Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
