Summary
The Quality Control Technician I is responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and documentation in accordance with ATMI Precasts quality standards and PCI/ACI requirements. This position supports daily production activities by verifying dimensional accuracy, concrete quality, and overall product compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections to verify compliance with industry tolerances, both dimensional and aesthetic
- Test fresh concrete for slump, air content, temperature, and unit weight in accordance with ACI standards
- Conduct concrete strength testing and maintain accurate records of all results
- Complete inspection and testing reports accurately and submit them in a timely manner
- Communicate inspection findings and recommendations clearly to supervisors and production teams
- Assist in developing and implementing quality-related process improvements
- Maintain clean and organized testing and inspection areas
- Obtain and maintain ACI Level 1 Certification within established time frame
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction documents
- Ability to use and read a measuring tape accurately
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks
- Flexible start times as required by production schedules
Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and equipment as needed
- Ability to work in plant and outdoor conditions that may include heat, humidity, cold, dust, and inclement weather
- Start time 3:00 a.m.; typically 40 + hours per week
- Some Saturday work may be required
