Aerotek Construction Materials Tester in Greenfield, Indiana

Job Title: Construction Materials Tester Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Construction Materials Tester. This role involves being cross-trained to perform construction material testing and assist in our environmental remediation business. You will work closely with senior technicians and gain hands-on experience testing materials such as soil, concrete, and asphalt.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and learn from senior CMT technicians in performing construction material testing.

  • Conduct soil compaction and sampling tests using a nuclear density machine, adhering to project specifications.

  • Perform concrete strength tests by taking samples from concrete trucks, labeling them, and preparing them for lab testing.

  • Test asphalt materials as part of construction projects.

  • Drive to work sites using personal vehicles and remain on-site as required.

  • Maintain detailed documentation and notes on testing procedures and results.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in construction material testing.

  • Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to take detailed notes.

  • Willingness to learn and ability to study and pass required certifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Construction, landscaping, concrete pouring, and asphalt paving experience.

  • Preferred certifications include ACI Certification, INDOT Certs, Nuclear Density Gauge Certification, and OSHA 10 or 30.

Work Environment

Work outdoors in various weather conditions in Indiana. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. Work hours are typically from 7 am to 4:30 pm, with 5-10 hours of overtime per week. Summer workloads may reach up to 60 hours per week. Dress code includes boots, jeans without holes, and a shirt with sleeves. Be prepared to travel for up to a week at a time, typically 1-2 nights, 20-30% of the year.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $41600.00/yr.
