DUNHAM FARMS Farm/Crop Laborer (Temporary) in GREEN RIVER, Utah
Temporary Need: 04/01/26 - 11/15/26. Three (3) full-time, seasonal, temporary Farm/Crop Laborers (Melon Pickers) needed. Wage is $10.64/hour. No experience required.
Hours: 48 hours/week, Mon. to Sat., 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Work location: Green River, Utah.
Duties:
Workers will perform manual labor in the harvesting and handling of melons and general farm tasks.
Duties include harvesting melons by hand with or without the use of a harvesting knife or other hand tools. Lifting, carrying, and loading harvested melons into bins or onto trailers in the field. Sorting and grading melons in the field based on size, ripeness, and quality. General field maintenance including weeding, rock picking, and removal of crop debris. Operating or assisting with the operation of simple farm tools and equipment under supervision. Moving, herding, and assisting with the care of cattle as directed. Performing post-harvest clean-up tasks in the fields. following all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the employer or crew leader. Working outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions, including extreme heat. Maintaining a positive attitude and respectful behavior with supervisors and coworkers. Able to lift 50 lbs.
Terms and conditions of employment: Workers will be required to keep all property and housing clean. The employer will provide to the worker at no charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Workers must be available for the entire work period; be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency; work at a sustained, vigorous pace on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Workers are required to keep all property, housing, and farm buildings clean, and must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor; employee must be willing to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision; absences from work and/or failure to perform required tasks will not be tolerated; must be able to provide employment eligibility documentation (I9 verification) upon hire. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, Workers' Compensation coverage or private insurance which is equal to Workers' Compensation laws for comparable employment. The employer guarantees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work days equal to at least 3/4's of the total work period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or advertised contractual first day of need. Whichever is later to occur, and ending on the expiration date specified. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer shall pay the worker the cost incurred by the worker for transportation and daily subsistence from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68 per day with receipts. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that is issued and determined by DOL for the time period the work is performed (whichever is the higher pay rate). This job is in connection with a future H-2A labor certification application.
