Company Description: H.J. Martin and Son is a diversified construction company specializing in commercial and residential flooring, glass and glazing, walls and ceilings, commercial doors and hardware, and millwork and fixture installation.
Job Description: We are seeking carpenters experienced in retail casework and architectural millwork installation, that are willing to travel. As a Traveling Casework Carpenter, you will be responsible for installing custom casework projects at various locations nationwide. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team to deliver exceptional results.
Traveling Casework Carpenter Principal Responsibilities:
Install and assemble custom casework products in commercial settings, including but not limited to cabinets, countertops, trim, and other interior finishes
Install and finish various types of trim, including baseboards, casings, and crown molding
Ensure work is completed to high-quality standards and within project timelines
Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including other carpenters, contractors, and project managers
Utilize hand and power tools to ensure accurate measurements, cuts, and joinery
Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all company and industry safety standards
Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues or challenges that may arise during the project
Superintendent experience welcomed, but not required
Must be able to travel for 2-3 weeks at a time
Experience/Carpentry Technical Skills Required:
Millwork construction industry experience is required
Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred, but not required
Knowledge of millwork materials, construction techniques, and industry standards is preferred
Must possess the skills to multi-task, work in a team setting, and meet deadlines
Forklift and/or scissor lift experience preferred, but not required
Valid state driver’s license is required
Conditions of Employment:
Must be able to pass pre-employment background and drug test.
