JOB REQUIREMENTS: Services & Mausoleum Assistant I PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Cemetery & Mausoleum Services Supervisor, performs burials, entombments and inurnment duties and participates in the overall upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery grounds and mausoleum facilities. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be 21 years of age. Familiar with layout of cemetery and mausoleum preferred. Working knowledge of cemetery and mausoleum operations and equipment preferred. Must possess a valid WI driver\'s license. Basic knowledge of backhoe and skid steer operation preferred. Basic understanding of Christian Burial Rites and Traditions preferred. Working knowledge of potential biohazards in dealing with deceased bodies preferred (will train). Working knowledge of safety issues, both internal and by governing agencies, preferred (will train). Basic computer knowledge. Proficient mechanical skills. Customer service and employee relations focused. Cooperative and self-motivated. Active listening skills, to include giving full attention and understanding, and asking appropriate questions, Critical thinking skills to problem solve (i.e., burial location, crypt size). Follow directions and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Understand cemetery and mausoleum maps, interment/entombment orders, lot cards and other documentation. Conduct oneself in a tactful and professional manner, respecting confidentiality. Make decisions quickly.
