Bank Of Colorado Mortgage Underwriter in Greeley, Colorado
Responsible for approving loans, obtaining necessary approval for all credits in excess of lending limit. Assists Senior Underwriter in conducting other duties related to the credit management of the secondary mortgage lending function of the branch. Responsible for on-going training and updates related to loan programs and guidelines, and communicating changes to staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Responsible for underwriting FHA, VA, and conventional mortgage loans, meeting set guidelines.
Responsible for manual underwriting decisions, ensuring policies and guidelines are strictly followed and supporting documentation to ensure compliance.
Responsible for keeping updated and informed of all changes that occur with loan agencies and investors; informs Senior Underwriter of any changes.
Assists Loan Originators in obtaining pre-approval.
Responsible for answering pre-qualification questions.
Performs other job related duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge of the secondary market, agency, loan products and guidelines.
Knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
Skill in underwriting FHA, VA, and conventional loan products
Ability to multi-task, and function as a team player.
Ability to type with high degree of speed and accuracy.
Ability to work with accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Secondary market mortgage loan underwriting experience required.
