What You Can Expect
The EHSS Manager provides local strategic leadership and oversight for all environmental, health, safety, and sustainability activities, initiatives, and compliance at the manufacturing site.
This role collaborates with business leaders and their teams to ensure that related practices, organizational structure management procedures, risk management, and continuous improvement activities are at the optimum level to drive and support the achievement of business objectives.
This role has full accountability of all EHSS aspects in the achievement of all functional objectives and related tasks across the manufacturing site and provides leadership for EHSS personnel throughout the site.
How You'll Create Impact
Advise management and take actions to ensure compliance with all applicable national, local, industry, and company environmental, health, safety and sustainability regulations.
Evaluates significant accident and hazard investigations. Manage accident and hazard investigations. Recommend and assist with the implementation of corrective actions.
Conduct required environmental, health, safety and sustainability inspections; assist with internal auditing programs; and drive associated gap closure. Maintain an effective internal EHS audit program.
Lead, manage, and maintain all EHSS programs. Promote programs through internal publications and encourage consideration of EHSS impact during decision -making processes.
Interpret and disseminate centrally provided information to meet site needs (i.e., safety alerts).
Act as the site subject matter expert (SME) and be the responsible person in liaising with legislative and enforcement bodies.
Develop, conduct, and coordinate EHSS-related training.
Ensure standardization of programs and training across the site and alignment with corporate expectations and programs.
Implement and maintain risk management systems to ensure that team member exposure to hazards and/ or unsafe environmental conditions are properly controlled and eliminated where possible.
Support legal deparmtnet and partner functions with risk control and processing activities.
Assists with the development, implementation, and revision of site EHSS procedures and promotional materials.
Drive continuous improvement activities and provide oversight for any related management systems.
Maintain necessary EHSS related documentation and metric data.
During the construction phase, complete specific audits to ensure external and appointed contractors are meeting expected safety standards.

What Makes You Stand Out
Bilingual with the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish and English fluently required.
Knowldge of EHSS best practices, industry trends, legal and regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies as well as change control and Condition Based Monitoring.
Strong writte, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences at various organizational levels.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to engage and influence internal business partners and team members at all levels of the organization.
Experience dealing with cultural integration, harmonization of terms and conditions of employment, and complex organizational change in a commercially focussed environment.
Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail to keep accurate records and organize information effectively and efficiently.
Demonstrated history of taking initiative, meeting commitments, and assisting in the creation of new tools or solutions to achieve business results.
Proven track record of effective process managemenet and improvement.
Ability to tolerate ambiguity, handle multiple priorities, and identify creative solutions to problems.
High level of personal accountability and integrity.
Proficient with MS Office and related software.
Your Background
Bachelors Degree in an operations, safety, engineering, environmental, industrial risk management, or related discipline required. Masters level education desireable.
At least four years of related experience required. At least eight years of experience is preferred and will be required without at least a Bachelors level of education.
Commensurate combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience developing and implementing safety programs required.
People leadership experience required.
Experience in manufacturing strongly preferred.
Experience supporting a start-up manufacutring site stronglt preferred.
Experience in a regulated environment preferred.
Specialized EHSS certification strongly preferred.
ESG knowledge - Environmental and Sustainability awareness.
Experience working towards local and global net zero commitments.
Travel Expectations
- Occasional regional travel and global travel will be required.
