Position: Deputy SheriffSalary: $35.47 - $38.35 per hour DOESchedule: Full-time with BenefitsOpening Date: January 14, 2026Closing Date: May 1, 2026Department: Cascade County Sheriff’s OfficePOSITION DESCRIPTION: A Deputy Sheriff serves in a highly responsible and visible capacity in the protection of life and property, preserves the public peace, prevents crimes, arrests violators of the law, enforces all laws and ordinances and performs other related work as required or assigned. Must successfully have completed or be able to complete all components of P.O.S.T. training or equivalency testing.** See Job Description for complete details**The successful applicant must meet the following requirements:- Obtain a complete physical and psychological examination by a licensed provider selected by the CCSO prior to employment;- High School Diploma, GED or HSE;- Must be a U.S. citizen;- Be at least 18 years of age;- Possess or be eligible for a Montana Driver’s License with a good driving record;- Submit to a criminal history and extensive background investigation;- Successfully complete an oral interview board;Special assignment opportunities are available in Detectives, HIDTA, Violent Crimes Task Force, K9, Search and Rescue and SRO/Street Law along with promotional rank advancements subject to applicable service requirements. This position is covered and subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement by and between Cascade County and the Cascade County Deputy Association.Notice to Applicants: The CCSO has a policy related to tattoos, body piercings and dental ornamentation. The only exception to paragraph (2) is a "Wedding Band" tattoo on the left-hand ring finger only. To qualify for this exception the "Wedding Band Tattoo" must be located on the base of the left ring finger and not exceed 3/8 inches in width.BODY PIERCING OR ALTERATIONBody piercing (other than earlobes) or alteration to any area of the body that is visible while on-duty or while representing the Cascade County Sheriff's Office in any official capacity, that is a deviation from normal anatomical features and that is not medically required, is prohibited. Such body alteration includes, but is not limited to:- a Tongue splitting or piercing.- b The complete or transdermal implantation of any material other than hair replacement (i.e., foreign objects inserted under the skin to create a design or pattern).- c Abnormal shaping of the ears, eyes, nose or teeth (i.e., enlarged or stretched out holes in the earlobes).DENTAL ORNAMENTATIONDental ornamentation that is for decorative purposes and that is not medically required is prohibited while on-duty or while representing the Cascade County Sheriff's Office in any official capacity.
