Assistant Store Manager
Job Summary Our Assistant Managers uphold the companys core values every day. They are responsible for the complete day-to-day operations of the Travel Center in the absence of the Store Manager. This includes assisting in the training of new employees, maximizing store sales and profitability, delegation of tasks, and contributing to the growth and development of the management team and store employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Conduct Travel Center employee meetings as needed. Assist in the interview and selection process for new Travel Center staff. Assist in training and coordination of training of new team members on store procedures, product knowledge,
computerized systems, and sales/customer service. Oversee staff and fulfill staffing needs for regular hours, as well as special events or high-traffic times. Maintain and motivate an effective and positive team through communication, incentives, and regular
evaluations. Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentorship to the Travel Center employees on product knowledge,
selling skills, visual merchandising, and customer experience. Handle disciplinary measures and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policies
and procedures. Supports the Store Manager in leading outstanding people processes, team development, and ensuring an
amazing applicant and employee experience. Enforce standard procedures to maximize guest experience at the Travel Center. Assist with enforcing training compliance for all Travel Center employees per company procedures and, state and
federal guidelines. Provide input relative to a team member\'s job performance and attitude during performance evaluations.
Duties & Responsibilities: Identify areas of opportunity and work to improve them or escalate appropriately to management. Address guest needs and work to resolve escalations. Assist in ensuring Travel Center remains competitive within the local market. Assist in managing labor cost and productivity. Assist with controlling company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures. Report all employee and/or guest incidents or accidents according to company procedure. Assist store manager with essential store functions, i.e. store accounting, daily invoice checking, inventory
control, store security, store and vehicle maintenance, etc. Paperwork, reporting, and researching as needed. Monitor cash flow and shrinkage regularly. Implement in-store promotions and specials, ensuring successful execution. Uphold excellent vendor relationships. Ensure a tidy and inviting appearance for Travel Center guests. Ensure accurate inventory data by performing spot inventory counts and checks. Assist with deli, cashier, porter, merchandising, and Assistant Manager duties as needed. Ensure and maintain a positive guest experience. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ability to use computerized systems including Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Capable of delegating while also being self-directed. Must be able to be flexible and work all shifts according to the needs of the company. Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business. Thorough understanding and enforcement of company policies and practices. Ability to problem solve. Strong attention to detail. This is considered a sa ety sensitive (non-DOT) position.
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of direct retail, customer service, managerial experience
required; and or bachelors degree in Business, Business Administration, or other related field preferred Successful completion of on-the-job training required.
Physical Requirements: The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties. Additionally, sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
Move and handle merchandise up to 50 pounds. Walk up and down stairs through the day. Ability to work up to 10-hour shifts.
