Salary Range: $68,000.00 To $72,000.00 Annually
Summary:
Primary job function is to produce quality products in a cost efficient manner while overseeing efficient operations of the plant facilities. Promote team management and employee morale.
Shift: (3rd Shift)
Primary Duties:
Provide for supervisory control of raw material inventory and daily usages.
• Plan and assign production sheets and work scheduling.
• Work with Quality Manager to assure control of products, processing, packaging, handling and storage.
• Provide immediate attention and notification to any observed loss of quality or shelf life.
• Evaluate and propose improvements in production costing and quality.
• Establish and enforce GMP’s and SOP’s for all plant and operator positions.
• Enlist outside support to meet operational needs as necessary.
• Enforce procedures to minimize product loss, time loss accidents and OHSA out of compliance losses.
• Provide Leadership and Supervision for a 25 employee crew made up of a diverse union workforce. Provide for the training and development of employees on that crew.
• Manage personnel issues, attendance, performance, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Serves on various committees, i.e., Safety, Operations, Quality, etc.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the Plant Manager
Communication Requirements:
Written and verbal communication skills needed to direct staff and present management in company meetings. Must be able to communicate ideas and goals to all plant employees.
Education and/or Experience:
BS degree in Dairy Science, Food Science or related field preferred
Previous supervisory experience required
Job Skills/ Requirements
Seeking a highly motivated individual who can supervise hourly employees in a fast paced assembly line production environment.
Must be able to maintain a high level of productivity while observing all safety rules and operations protocols
Monitors production activities to eliminate downtime, delays and ensure adherence to production goals based on scheduling.
Ensures efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
Monitors production quality to ensure product specifications are met.
Maintains daily production records.
Coordinates training of hourly production employees on job functions and the operation of various machines.
Maintains cleanliness of the work areas, ensures proper handling of tools and equipment, and correct operation of machinery to provide a safe working environment.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of food safety preferred.
