Job Title: Sr. Project Manager – Commercial Construction
Job Description
The Sr. Project Manager leads the successful execution of multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role provides strategic project leadership, drives financial performance, manages project risk, and mentors project teams. The Sr. Project Manager collaborates closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal leadership to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and in alignment with core values of safety, integrity, accountability, and people development.
Responsibilities
Lead multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction planning through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Provide strategic leadership for project teams, setting clear expectations and ensuring alignment with project goals, schedules, and budgets.
Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and critical path activities stay on track.
Oversee project budgets and cost control processes, including forecasting, cost tracking, and variance analysis to protect project profitability.
Manage construction contracts, including reviewing terms, monitoring compliance, and addressing changes, claims, and potential disputes.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks related to safety, schedule, cost, quality, and scope throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate and lead regular project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
Ensure all work complies with contract documents, specifications, building codes, and quality standards.
Collaborate with preconstruction teams on estimates, constructability reviews, value engineering, and project planning.
Provide strong client-facing leadership, serving as the primary point of contact and building long-term, trust-based relationships.
Mentor, coach, and develop project engineers, assistant project managers, and other team members to build future leaders.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all projects, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Prepare and deliver regular project status reports, including schedule updates, financial performance, and risk assessments to internal leadership.
Support the pursuit and planning of new project opportunities in markets such as industrial, automotive, warehouse, healthcare, municipal, and higher education.
Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and best practices across the project portfolio.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management.
Proven experience leading large, complex commercial construction projects through the full lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, including contract structures, terms, and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated expertise in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management of construction projects.
Advanced skills in project scheduling, including development, monitoring, and recovery planning.
Experience in industrial, automotive, warehouse, healthcare, municipal, or higher education construction markets.
Proficiency with Procore project management software.
Proficiency with modern project management tools and related construction technology platforms.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to direct and motivate diverse project teams.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead meetings and present to clients and internal leadership.
Strong client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in commercial construction.

The position involves a mix of office and on-site work, overseeing projects in markets such as industrial, automotive, warehouse, healthcare, municipal, and higher education. You will regularly use Procore and modern project management tools to manage schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication across project teams and stakeholders. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
