About Corewell Health’s Rehab and Nursing Center - Kentridge
Corewell Health’s Rehab and Nursing Center – Kentridge is a 165-bed facility serving patients who need short-term rehab after surgery, serious injury or illness and/or long-term care. We also have the unique ability to serve patients with long-term complex care needs after neurological injury due to wounds, significant medical complexities, oxygen dependence, or various other needs. The rehab program has a proud 30+ year history of specialty Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation in general medical rehab as well as specialty areas of stroke and brain injury. Many team members have received specialized training and certifications to care for patients with neurological injuries. The building boasts three spacious rehab gyms with specialized equipment including a treadmill, unweighted gait systems, E-stim devices, and more. Multiple enclosed courtyards, an outdoor gazebo, a patio with recreational garden, and an outdoor mobility path are additional features for both rehab and recreation.
In addition to multiple medical providers, the program has a dedicated wound nurse, infection prevention nurse, and onsite respiratory therapist to address complex medical needs. Physical, occupational, speech, recreation, and music therapists deliver personalized therapy plans to support each patient’s unique rehabilitation journey. A physical medicine and rehabilitation provider is available for onsite consultation when needed.
Scope of Work
As a Respiratory Therapist with Corewell Health, you can help patients breathe more easily and live life more comfortably. You'll collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to help diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.
Performs evaluation to determine respiratory care needs, and makes appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards. Performs point of care testing as required.
Performs advanced evaluation, management and therapeutic procedures (interventions) for patients requiring respiratory assistance. Assesses effectiveness of intervention and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards.
Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe. Maintains competency in areas of accountability.
Accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation and billing.
Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services / the next point of service / home and provides education to patients and families as it relates to respiratory issues.
Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services.
Qualifications
Required Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy
Preferred Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Therapy
2 years of relevant experience pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine or equivalent clinical educationRequired
LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required
CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days required
CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
This is a Part-Time Position offering Full Benefits
This position will entail:
-One 8-Hr. Shift: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
-One 12-Hr. Shift: 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
