We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to design and implement networking protocols and enhance system integrations. The role demands expertise in both the development and optimization of networking applications, ensuring robustness and security of critical devices.
Responsibilities
Design and implement networking protocols including IPv4, IPv6, ARP, ICMP, IGMP, DHCP, TCP, UDP, and NTP.
Create detailed design and technical documentation, optimize existing applications, and implement new features.
Validate and verify software designs in various system integration environments.
Implement protocols and algorithms for resource-constrained environments and collaborate with the hardware team to enable communication between modules and applications.
Ensure software robustness, resilience, and fail-safe operation for critical devices, and mitigate potential safety and security vulnerabilities.
Define and execute engineering test, validation, and verification activities.
Essential Skills
Experience in designing a network with the implementation of networking protocols.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in networking protocol development.
Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, including Ethernet and VLAN tagging.
Familiarity with Neighbor Discovery (ND) in IPv6.
A minimum of 5 years of experience implementing or integrating Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) and Internet Key Exchange (IKE).
Proficiency in C, C++, or equivalent languages.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in mission-critical industries such as aerospace, automotive, defense, or medical devices.
Python language experience or equivalent scripting languages.
Active Clearance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $85.00/hr.
