The Mechanical Engineer will support product durability efforts by leading the analysis, developing test plans, and providing hands-on support during testing activities. This role collaborates closely with R&D and the Testing Department to translate risk assessments into executable test requirements and ensure effective issue resolution. The engineer will utilize Teamcenter, Pro, and NX to manage design data, testing requirements, and fixture development.
Responsibilities
Lead and support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities using Pro.
Translate DFMEA results into durability test requirements.
Develop detailed test plans in collaboration with the R&D technical lead driving the tollgate process.
Create and input test requirements into Teamcenter for execution by the test team.
Provide hands-on engineering support during testing, including inspection and evaluation of mechanical components such as belts, rollers, and related assemblies.
Partner with the Test Department to investigate failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
Release drawings in Teamcenter related to fixture designs and testing setups.
Design basic test fixtures using NX, as required to support testing activities.
Support testing in ambient and cold-temperature environments, including freezer testing down to –30°C.
Write test procedures and help design test fixtures.
Provide hands-on support for prototype builds.
Update drawings for corrections or support new design updates.
Assist with documentation.
Sustain work by changing/updating drawings for existing products and supporting new drawing designs for existing products.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
4+ years of experience
Experience with DFMEA, test plans, and test procedures
Proficiency in PLM and CAD software
3D solid modeling experience (Unigraphics NX preferred)
Hands-on experience with building prototypes and equipment commissioning
Troubleshooting mechanical and system issues, including mechatronics
Understanding of product testing and ability to create test plans
Knowledge of machined, extruded, sheet metal, and plastic part design
Additional Skills & Qualifications
NX experience highly preferred
Teamcenter experience highly preferred
Mechanical design experience
Ability to interpret test results
Work Environment
This position is on-site in the R&D department, with a standard 40-hour work week. The project involves working on a Multiple Case Per Tray Conveyor system that operates in both ambient and freezer environments down to -30°C. The assignment offers 2 weeks of vacation (1 week per 6 months), with a possibility of extension for an additional 6 months, along with 6 holidays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
