Trane Technologies is hiring a Focus Factory Manager of Operations in Grand Rapids, MI. The Operations Leader provides direction salaried and hourly production and support staff employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Plans and assigns work, enforces policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Accountable for driving higher standards of excellence in manufacturing high quality products in a safe manner while assuring cost-efficient products and on-time delivery to customers, and for maintaining an environment of positive employee relations in a team environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop a manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
Coaches’ production managers / leaders on manpower planning and achieving optimum efficiencies with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet the annual budgetary plan.
Drives Leader standard work, Leads on Gemba / MDI for continuously improving performance. Coaches the team to gather data, helps analyze them for better problem solving
Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards.
Hires, trains, evaluates, develops staff. Ensures an engaging and motivating team environment is maintained, participates with the local leadership team in all programs developed to improve the existing culture
Coordinates SIOP forecast and PSI to build product, maintain inventory levels, and foster teamwork to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement strategic objectives.
Prioritizes safety culture, and employee engagement in creating a safe work environment, first.
Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
Participates and coordinates the manufacturing aspects of new product releases.
Build and maintain a highly motivated, knowledgeable and skilled workforce and provide staff development as required.
Directs and development the team.
Leads Lean transformation, within cross-functional teams.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or other applicable field required
Demonstrated leadership ability
Minimum of 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a leadership role
Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools a plus; Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred
Strong planning, problem analysis and resolution, and organizational skills
Able to make timely decision in stressful situations
Ability to listen to customers and translate into accurate, actionable specifications
Must be team-oriented with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively adapt to change (environment, requirements, roles, Objectives)
Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:
$113,600.00 - $204,609.99
