Trinity Health Control Desk Coordinator - Radiology in Grand Rapids, Michigan

  • Part-time, 20 hours per week

  • M/F rotation - variable start time generally 8a | Every Wednesday 11a-11p.

  • Weekend/holiday rotation.

Position Summary:

The Control Desk Coordinator supports the Radiology Department by greeting patients, collecting information, and scanning documents into medical records. They ensure exam orders are complete, charges are processed, and manage patient flow across five modalities. The coordinator interacts with hospitals, patients, and physician offices, assists with patient transportation, and maintains medical records.

What the Control Desk Coordinator | Radiology will do:

  • Greet patients, confirm information, process paperwork, and prepare them for exams.

  • Verify physician orders and clinical info, ensuring accuracy for exam scheduling.

  • Digitize, print, and distribute reports, CDs, and images to relevant parties.

  • Monitor patients in the department, addressing needs and responding to emergencies.

  • Coordinate work assignments for Orderlies, manage patient flow, and transport as needed.

  • Train new staff and maintain departmental organization.

  • Perform clerical tasks, including scheduling, locating reports, ordering supplies, and coordinating emergent procedures.

  • Verify requisitions for coders and resolve discrepancies by contacting physician offices.

What the Control Desk Coordinator | Radiology will need:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Certification or re-certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within three months of hire.

  • One year of clerical and patient work related experience or vast knowledge of hospital setting.

  • Preferred: Previous experience with managing an office setting or care of patients.
