Lockheed Martin Senior SW Developer - Text Based in Grand Prairie, Texas
Description: We are looking for a motivated Software Developer with strong expertise in text‑based programming languages (e.g., Python, C, or similar) to join a tight‑knit team building an automated test suite for a series of tactical system emulators.
What You Will Be Doing
The developer will create and maintain independent software modules that mimic complex operational environments, enabling rigorous testing of a large, frequently updated SW as the UUT whose outcomes have real‑world impact. Responsibilities include implementing robust, data‑driven test logic, integrating with existing emulation frameworks, supporting continuous‑integration pipelines, and collaborating closely with system engineers to ensure traceability and repeatability. The role operates in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility program where clear communication, rapid problem‑solving, and a proactive attitude are essential.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. A Final Secret Clearance is required to start.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Proficiency in text‑based programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, C++) and/or LabVIEW, with strong scripting abilities for test‑automation.
• Ability to interpret and work from hardware schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with version‑control systems (Git, SVN) and configuration‑management best practices.
•Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced team environment.
• A proactive, “hungry‑to‑learn” attitude and willingness to acquire new skills on the job.
• Must be able to obtain a secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
•Demonstrated experience integrating software modules into automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, test‑case design, and verification/validation processes.
• Hands‑on experience with Jira (or a similar issue‑tracking tool) and familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflow practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand‑ups.
• Basic understanding of networking protocols and data exchange formats (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, JSON, XML) commonly used in tactical system emulation.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
