AltaGas - Operator 3, Dimsdale

AltaGas is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and self‑motivated Plant Operator to join our team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Reporting to Superintendent / Lead Operator, this role will provide operational support to AltaGas and the Dimsdale Gas Storage facility. This position offers a dynamic work environment with unique challenges, along with strong opportunities for professional growth and development.

You Will:

• Assist and advise AltaGas under the daily direction of the Superintendent and/or Lead Operator

• Operate and monitor dehydration facilities

• Perform reciprocating gas compressor operations

• Execute hazardous energy isolation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

• Monitor and operate SCADA systems for pipelines, wells, and facilities

• Complete facility logs in accordance with the approved operations plan

• Conduct monthly D15 tank inspections

• Participate in maintenance activities, operations planning, safety meetings, and other meetings as required

• Address field‑related issues in a timely manner, either independently or in coordination with the Superintendent or designate

• Communicate effectively with the Superintendent, management, and other stakeholders regarding operational, safety, and asset‑related matters

• Orient new contractors and complete hazard assessments as required

• Complete incident reporting and participate in incident investigations as required

• Issue permits and complete onboarding requirements for new workers

• Validate daily service tickets and operational documentation

You Have:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent required.

• 4th Class Power Engineering certificate is an asset.

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in facility/field operations.

• Gas plant and power generation experience is considered an asset.
