Position Title:
Secondary Building Based Substitute Teacher
Anticipated Employment Date:
ASAP - June 12, 2026
Anticipated Work Location/Hours:
Grand Island High School 7:25 AM to 2:25 PM
Salary:
$200.00 per day - 4 days per week
Duties:
Responsibilities as per District needs; fill in for classroom and special area teachers.
Participate in all building events and may substitute at per diem rate on the fifth day.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Certified Teacher Certification (secondary desired).
Experience teaching high school (student teaching
experience will be considered).
Ability to provide differentiated instruction at all levels.
Familiarity with Common Core curriculum and NYS
Standards, and other high school level content.
Ability to use authentic and traditional assessments to
differentiate instruction and improve student achievement.
Evidence of academic success at undergraduate and/or
graduate levels.
Strong work ethic and commitment to the school's mission and vision.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
Evidence of positive classroom management skills.
Experience teaching high school students.
Strong computer skills and ability to integrate technology
