Seasonal employees will assist with corn, wheat, and soybean crop production and perform all aspects of raising these crops. Duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors using hand tools; and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, and other farm equipment. Workers will participate in planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting activities; load and unload crops and materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, and transfer augers; load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machinery using augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks; and manipulate machine controls to set, activate, and adjust equipment. Additional duties include monitoring machinery to detect malfunctions, weighing crop-filled containers and recording weights and identifying information, attaching equipment extensions or accessories, driving farm trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools, and inspecting, adjusting, and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.

Minimum Experience Required
This position requires a minimum of two (2) months of farm experience performing the job duties listed. Workers must possess a valid regular driver’s license. The job requires extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. To enforce a drug-free workplace policy, the employer will conduct post-hire drug testing at no cost to the employee, and failure to comply or testing positive will result in termination of employment.

Additional Compensation
The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
