Job Details

General Summary:

Key management position requiring strong leadership and analytical skills relative to strategic planning and program management to facilitate pipeline sustainability and future store growth opportunities in line with company financial objectives. Director of Market Planning leads team of analysts and works cross-functionally with leaders of other business units to deliver company growth objectives, including new stores, remodels, relocations, renovations, and other store asset related actions. In addition, assists with numerous corporate initiatives and implementation of key strategies to support new store growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead site selection and strategic planning of potential new and relocation opportunities ensuring an adequate pipeline to meet corporate objectives. (40%)

  • Coordinate with broader Market Planning team to enhance store relocation, remodel, and closure strategies to drive increased profitability. (20%)

  • Assist with ad hoc analyses and projects as requested. Support strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership. (20%)

  • Evaluate M&A opportunities that meet company growth and future market expansion objectives. (5%)

  • Develop and implement best in class technology and processes to enhance analysis and speed to market. (5%)

  • Partner cross functionally to ensure organizational and real estate goals are aligned. (10%)

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, articulate oral & written communicator, able to provide clear and concise direction to a team to ensure delivery of goals and objectives. Experienced in presenting information to executive leaders.

  • Excellent leadership and motivational skills for team building and training.

  • Able to foster an environment of organizational excellence and build a strong bench of future thought leaders.

  • Solution and results-oriented leader with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and innate desire for process improvement.

  • Strong background in business, finance, and strategic planning. Foundational understanding of IRR models & financial acumen.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and produce highly curated and impactful results.

Work Experience and/or Education:

  • A minimum of 10 years real-estate or strategic planning/finance experience, Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred. An equivalent of education and experience may be substituted.

Competencies:

  • Strong MS Excel skills capable of building complex formulas and Macros

  • Strong background in MS PowerPoint with ability to produce Executive-level presentations

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Demonstrates adaptability by adjusting to changing business priorities.

  • Experience with Power BI, 1010, and mapping applications such as ESRI preferred
