GONZALES - CITY OF Battalion Chief in Gonzales, Texas
The City of Gonzales Fire Department is currently accepting applications for Battalion Chief. This position will primarily work in our prevention division, to include conducting fire inspections. Qualifications: Minimum certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as Intermediate Firefighter Minimum certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as Fire Instructor-II Minimum certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as Fire Officer-II Certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as Fire Inspector Certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as Driver/Operator Pumper Certification through the Texas Department of State Health Services as EMT-Basic or higher Have or obtain Fire Investigator certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Have or obtain Hazardous Materials Technician certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Have or obtain Hazardous Materials Incident Commander certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Have or obtain Incident Safety Officer certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Have or obtain Wildland Firefighter Protection certification through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection NIMS certification (IS-100,200,300,400,700,800)
Prospective applicants must pass a written exam, physical agility, and oral interview, to be considered for a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical.

Pay and Benefits This Gonzales Fire Department position is an administrative salary position, based on a 40- hour work week.
The Battalion Chief salary is $71,614.40 annually.
