Jovian Concepts LLC is looking to hire a Software Engineer Level 3 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.\x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span>

\n Seeking a senior engineer who can design, implement, and improve distributed application orchestration logic, mentor peers, and contribute to the architectural direction of the system.<\/span>

Responsibilities<\/span><\/b>

<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

  • Design scalable workflows for deploying and managing Kubernetes-native applications

<\/span><\/li>\n

  • Lead the development of reusable Helm charts, GitOps templates, and deployment strategies

<\/span><\/li>\n

  • Build system-aware controllers or agents that automate app lifecycle tasks

<\/span><\/li>\n

  • Contribute to platform-wide architecture decisions (e.g., deployment strategy, multi-cluster config, observability)

<\/span><\/li>\n

  • Mentor junior engineers and review code for reliability, clarity, and best practices

<\/span><\/li>\n

  • Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure secure and compliant deployments<\/span>

  • Twenty (20)<\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> years experience<\/span><\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is<\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> required.\x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science<\/span><\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> or related discipline from an accredited college or university is<\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> required. Four (4) years of<\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> additional<\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span> SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.<\/span><\/span><\/span> \x26nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

  • Deep experience with Go or Python in cloud-native contexts<\/span>

  • Strong Kubernetes experience: CRDs, Helm, GitOps, multi-tenant app deployments<\/span>

<\/li>\n

  • Experience with event-driven or agent-based systems (e.g., Kafka, controller patterns)<\/span>

<\/li>\n

  • Familiar with infrastructure automation (Terraform, cloud-init, Ansible)<\/span>

<\/li>\n

  • Comfortable balancing automation and operator oversight in complex environments<\/span>
