United States Steel Management Associate - Procurement in Pittsburgh,
13789BRJob Description:This position will include Transactional Procurement responsibilities related to the sourcing of materials and services needed to support the operating facilities. Activities will include issuing Purchase Orders from approved requisitions, issuing Requests for Quote, communicating with both internal customers and external suppliers, and resolution of invoicing discrepancies.
In addition to Transactional Procurement responsibilities, this position will interact regularly with the Category Managers through execution of the category management plans. Finally, this role will provide exposure to the digital Procurement strategy at U. S. Steel, specifically a Source-to-Contract solution. This solution will enable the Procurement organization to leverage digital analytics to define incremental savings opportunities, execute e-sourcing events, leading to awarding business, contract execution, and supplier relationship management.
Individuals must be capable of leading projects, communicating effectively across the organization, working both individually and in teams, and prioritizing multiple requests while paying attention to detail. This role requires the ability to analyze data and make recommendations, multi-task and execute against daily operational requirements. Attention to detail, consistent follow through, and identifying & executing process improvements are critical to the success of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Operational Procurement responsibilities including requisition processing, purchase order creation & maintenance, issuing requests for quotation, invoice resolution activities.
Drive digital strategy through Source-to-Contract solution
Demonstrates ability to manage multiple internal customer requests, and is able to prioritize requests with guidance.
Demonstrates inquisitiveness to drill into details, review and analyze data and make recommendations on value creation to support the organization.
Specific Experience Required:
Background in business administration, supply chain, logistics, etc.
Understanding of the purchasing process, from requisition to PO to payment
Entry level procurement/supply chain professional with strong desire to build upon existing skill
Personal Skills Required:
Time management & prioritization skills.
Strong customer service attitude.
Desire to understand existing processes and identify ways to create efficiencies and streamline processes
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
Ability to quickly learn and understand new processes
Technical Skills Required:
Experience with purchasing module in ERP system. Oracle experience is a plus.
General understanding of various parts & services utilized in heavy manufacturing
Excellent MS Excel skills
