Job Title: Fabrication Specialist

Job Description

As a Fabrication Specialist, you will work with various materials including plastic, carbon, and stainless steel to assemble interconnecting piping between vessels, pumps, and valves. You will be responsible for fabricating and assembling equipment based on mechanical and electrical drawings, as well as operating industrial machining equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with plastic (PVC, CPVC, PVDF), carbon, stainless steel piping, and sheet goods to assemble interconnecting piping between vessels, pumps, and valves.

  • Fabricate and assemble equipment based on mechanical drawings.

  • Route and terminate wires based on electrical drawings.

  • Operate industrial machining equipment such as a drill press, threader, cutters, sanders/grinders, and various types of saws.

  • Use overhead crane and ensure safe rigging and maneuvering of loads in support of equipment assembly and preparation for shipment activities.

  • Operate a forklift and pallet jack.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical and electrical drawings.

  • Experience using hand/power tools and basic size/weight measuring devices.

  • Experience assembling plastic or stainless-steel piping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Skilled trade degree or certification.

  • Ability to wire simple circuitry and perform point-to-point terminations.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Previous forklift operating experience.

  • Basic computer skills including data entry and internet/email usage.

Work Environment

Located in Glenwood, IL, this role follows a Monday - Friday schedule from 6:00am - 2:30pm. The work is performed in a shop environment with exposure to dust, noise, and odors. The position requires regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Dress code is standard for a shop environment, focusing on safety and practicality.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glenwood, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
