Mohawk Auto Group Inventory Specialist in Glenville, New York

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

The Inventory Specialist plays a vital role in the daily management and maintenance of the dealership’s new and used vehicle inventory. Responsibilities include collaborating with the team to maintain an organized, visually appealing lot; receiving and stocking incoming vehicles; inspecting vehicles for transit damage; coordinating vehicles designated for wholesale; and supporting both the sales and service departments as needed. Ultimately, the Inventory Specialist ensures vehicles are properly positioned and available at the right time to support efficient operations and maximize sales and service effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Compare serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice

  • Inspect vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice

  • Record the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt

  • Park new vehicles in assigned areas

  • Catalog and store keys

  • Assign stock control numbers to cars

  • Move sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keeps the lot in order

  • Deliver sold vehicles to the vehicle preparation department

  • Service vehicles in storage to protect tires, battery, and finish against deterioration

  • Other tasks as assigned

The Inventory Specialist's communication skills are essential for coordinating with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and internal teams to ensure smooth inventory flow. Problem-solving abilities help identify and resolve discrepancies or inefficiencies in inventory processes. The Inventory Specialist is a careful and skilled driver, ensuring vehicles are moved in a safe and accident-free manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred

  • Proven experience in inventory management or a related field

  • Display a customer service-based personality

  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmissions

  • Ability to work outside and on your feet for extended periods of time

  • Ensures a high level of customer satisfaction

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Reliable

  • Possess a clean and valid driver’s license

  • Familiarity with inventory management software and basic data analysis tools

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
