Dawson County Correctional Facility Case Manager in Glendive, Montana
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- One of the following qualifications: a teaching certificate, completion of an associate degree in any field, completion of a bachelor's degree in any field, a teaching certificate issued by another state, or prior teaching experience, including prior military training and experience
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalent and two years general office experience required
- Basic policy/procedure knowledge of the Montana Department of Corrections and experience working in a Detention Facility preferred
- Must successfully complete certification for CJIN/NCIC within six months of hire and be re-certified every two (2) years
- Management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Experience with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Patience and firmness are required in frequent contacts with violent, suicidal, and mentally unstable inmates
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Montana driver's license
- FIVE MINUTE TYPING TEST THROUGH JOB SERVICE
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Observation and accompaniment of inmates inside the detention center and related care record keeping requirements
- Facilitate evidence-based programming approved by the Department of Corrections
- Prep inmates in need of a high school equivalency
- Analyzes and evaluates inmate case records in preparation for Parole Hearings
- Assist inmates in formulating a parole plan
- Conduct Pre-Parole School to inmates
- Conduct orientation and PREA training to all inmates
- Conduct Montana Risk to Reoffend Assessments with inmates
- Process inmate reclassifications
- Subjected to hazards associated with custody work including exposure to various hazards such as noise, a variety of physical conditions, close quarters and exposure to human body fluids
Full-time positions, working Monday - Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
