Location: On-site at GMC | 202 Prospect Dr, Glendive, MT 59330 | Acute Care Department
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly (bi-weekly pay)
Schedule: Three 12-Hour Shifts | 6 Weeks Days / 6 Weeks Nights | Rotating Weekends & Holidays

As a Nursing Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our patients through direct care, teamwork, and hands-on comfort measures - helping create positive patient experiences during some of their most vulnerable moments.
What You'll Do
You will work under the direction of an RN or LPN and contribute to safe, compassionate, and effective patient care, including:
Patient Care & Daily Living
Assist with personal hygiene, bathing, grooming, toileting, and skin care checks.
Support mobility needs, including repositioning, transfers, ambulation, and ROM exercises.
Ensure clean gowns, fresh bedding, and tidy rooms throughout your shift.
Assist with meals, feed patients as needed, and provide fresh water and nourishment.
Clinical Support
Obtain vital signs, I&Os, heights, weights, and collect specimens.
Assist with nonsterile dressings, surgical preps, ice/heat therapy, enemas, and other delegated tasks.
Support point-of-care testing, collect EKGs, and place patients on cardiac monitors.
Patient Safety & Experience
Round frequently and respond promptly to call lights.
Maintain safe environments and competent, caring interactions.
Provide dignified end-of-life and post-mortem care.
Teamwork & Professionalism
Communicate clearly with nursing staff and provide thorough end-of-shift reports.
Participate in the orientation of new employees and contribute to a positive team environment.
Complete additional duties such as stocking supplies, checking warmers, and general workspace upkeep.
Follow incident reporting and chain-of-command procedures.
Attend unit meetings and educational opportunities for continuous growth.
What We're Looking For
Dependable, punctual, and consistent attendance.
Strong prioritization and time-management skills.
Ability to use de-escalation techniques with agitated patients.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
High school diploma preferred.
Nursing Assistant course completion or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
Prior hospital experience preferred.
Current BLS certification required.
CNA License or Medical Assistant License preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, and respond quickly in emergencies.
Must safely lift/move up to 50 lbs using proper technique and lift equipment.
Prolonged periods of physical activity.
Ability to manage physical and emotional stress.
Potential exposure to common hospital environmental risks.
Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
