The Logistics Intern supports the Supply Chain Logistics team in executing and optimizing transportation and distribution operations. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-time logistics coordination, shipment tracking, cost analysis, and vendor communication within a fast-paced distribution environment. This role offers exposure to cross-functional operations and provides an opportunity to develop analytical, problem-solving, and operational skills while supporting initiatives that drive efficiency across the Batteries Plus supply chain.
What You'll Do
Coordinate and monitor shipments, including tracking orders and communicating with carriers and vendors.
Assist with data entry and generate routine reports related to shipping and delivery performance.
Maintain accurate tracking records to support operational visibility and reporting.
Monitor logistics workflows to ensure alignment with company standards and compliance requirements.
Support resolution of delivery delays, inventory discrepancies, and vendor-related issues.
Evaluate carrier performance and help identify opportunities to improve delivery speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Research potential cost savings and service improvement opportunities with logistics partners.
Audit freight invoices for accuracy and assist with reconciliation activities.
Help identify opportunities to improve visibility to logistics performance metrics through reporting and dashboards.
Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for operational and process improvements.
Assist in preparing summaries, reports, and presentations for leadership.
Support strategic and tactical logistics projects as assigned.
Complete internship project work and present outcomes and recommendations to leadership.
What We're Looking For
Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Basic proficiency with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools preferred.
Interest in transportation, distribution operations, or supply chain management.
Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced operational environment.
