Aerotek CNC Programmer in Glendale Heights, Illinois
CNC Programmer / Machinist
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join a dynamic job shop environment working with a variety of precision parts and low‑volume runs. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys owning the full machining process—from programming to production.
In this position, you’ll work with CNC Mills and Lathes , primarily on Citizen‑Miyano machines , programming in Mastercam , setting up equipment, editing G‑code, and running parts through production. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring quality through detailed inspections using analog measuring tools.
What You’ll Do
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
Create CNC programs from drawings using Mastercam
Set up and operate CNC Mills and Lathes
Edit and optimize programs using G‑code and M‑code
Run production parts (typical runs of 50–100 pieces)
Perform in‑process and final quality checks using analog micrometers and calipers
Take ownership of your machine and ensure consistent, high‑quality output
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
Strong experience programming and editing in Mastercam
Proven ability to program, set up, and run both mills and lathes
Comfortable working from blueprints and verbal instructions
Experience in a job shop environment with a wide variety of parts and short runs
Solid understanding of GD&T and precision measurement

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
