Quality Inspector Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for establishing quality standards for various products. You will read blueprints and specifications to ensure that operations meet production standards. You will recommend necessary adjustments and changes to production processes, inspect and test materials and equipment, and use gadgets such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. You will also remove products that don’t meet production standards, recommend strategies to improve product quality, and either accept or reject finished products. Additionally, you will discuss inspection results with the production team and perform inspections at random to assess product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Establish quality standards for products.

  • Read blueprints and specifications to ensure operations meet production standards.

  • Recommend adjustments and changes to production processes.

  • Inspect and test materials and equipment.

  • Use gadgets such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

  • Remove products that don’t meet production standards.

  • Recommend strategies to improve product quality.

  • Accept or reject finished products.

  • Discuss inspection results with the production team.

  • Perform random inspections to assess product quality.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of mechanical inspection experience.

  • Familiarity with working to drawings and prints to ensure parts meet standards.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.

  • Experience in visual inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Technical skills and the ability to understand blueprints, documents, and manuals.

  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills.

  • Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean manufacturing setting where most work is performed on your feet. Various positions are available on both shifts. 1st shift operates from 6AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday, and 6AM to 12PM on Saturdays. 2nd shift runs from 4PM to 2:30AM Monday through Friday, and from 12PM to 6PM on Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
