Job Description
The role of a Materials & Process Technician involves preparing test samples for analysis through cleaning, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing. This position requires supporting engineers in sample preparation experiments, including molding and testing. You will also be responsible for operating, validating, and maintaining mechanical and analytical testing equipment, as well as thoroughly documenting, managing, examining, recording, and saving testing data records. Organizing and maintaining laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage bins, and workstation areas is also a crucial part of the job.
Responsibilities
Prepare test samples for analysis via cleaning, cutting, mounting, grinding, and polishing.
Support engineers in experiments related to sample preparation such as molding and testing.
Operate, validate, and maintain mechanical and analytical testing equipment.
Document, manage, examine, record, and save testing data records thoroughly.
Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, consumables, sample storage bins, and workstation areas.
Essential Skills
Experience in materials testing and process validation.
Proficiency in sample preparation.
Experience working with lab equipment for mechanical, thermal, or chemical testing.
Strong data acquisition and quality assurance skills.
Proficiency with cross-section equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to understand, use, and develop analytical skills, including process development.
Commitment to technical and personal development related to products, testing equipment, and processes.
Capability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and demands under stress.
Work Environment
This position is based in a laboratory environment, requiring hands-on interaction with various testing equipment and materials. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glendale, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
