Honeywell Sr Project Engineer - Space Momentum Control Systems in Glendale, Arizona

In this role, you will provide project engineering support for both ongoing production and new development programs within Honeywell’s Momentum Control product lines. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional experts and work hands on with our products from concept and design through manufacturing, testing, and customer delivery.

You’ll be a key technical leader, driving engineering efforts, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and serving as a direct technical interface to customers. This position is ideal for a proactive engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, leading technical initiatives, and influencing program success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and support engineering activities across the full program lifecycle: proposal, design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and delivery

• Coordinate technical execution across cross functional teams, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met

• Drive requirements evaluation, flowdown, design modifications, and product testing

• Troubleshoot complex issues and lead failure investigations and root-cause analysis

• Prepare and deliver technical documentation, design reviews, status updates, and customer presentations

• Support proposal development for both new business and changes to existing programs

• Review and approve engineering deliverables from team members and provide insightful technical guidance.

• Partner closely with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams

• Identify technical risks, assess impacts, and recommend effective mitigations

• Build strong relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics

• Minimum 6 years of experience in complex engineering environments involving high‑reliability mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical systems.

U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to contractual requirements.

WE VALUE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university

• 6 years of experience working in space applications

• Experience with momentum control hardware for space systems

• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across teams and with customers

• A proactive mindset with ownership of engineering tasks and deliverables

• Creative problem solving using technical data and risk based decision making

• Solid design, analysis, and systems engineering skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint)

• Experience with engineering tools such as MATLAB, NX, Sinda, or Nastran

• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse functions
