Job Title: Skilled Laborer

Job Description

This role involves performing a wide range of construction and general labor tasks with a strong focus on concrete work and support for production operations. You will contribute to the safe and efficient completion of projects by handling heavy materials, operating and assisting with machinery, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning new skills, and growing within the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction labor tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and cleanup.

  • Carry out concrete labor duties such as preparing forms, placing, leveling, and finishing concrete as directed.

  • Assist machine operators in the production process by supplying materials, monitoring equipment, and following instructions to maintain efficient workflow.

  • Operate basic machinery and equipment safely after receiving proper training and guidance.

  • Use hand tools and power tools to complete carpentry, concrete, and general labor tasks.

  • Support carpentry-related activities, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using a tape measure and appropriate tools.

  • Perform landscaping and grounds-related tasks as needed to support construction and production operations.

  • Lift, move, and position heavy materials and products safely throughout the shift.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing regular cleaning and general labor duties.

  • Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and instructions to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on experience in construction labor, including general construction tasks and site work.

  • Concrete labor experience, such as working with precast concrete, pouring, or finishing concrete.

  • Ability to perform general labor duties, including heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks.

  • Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Basic carpentry skills, including measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

  • Willingness and ability to assist with machine operating and production processes.

  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions reliably.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in construction, carpentry, concrete, or general labor roles.

  • Experience in landscaping or outdoor labor-intensive work.

  • Interest in learning heavy equipment operation over time.

  • Motivation to grow into supervisory or advanced equipment operating positions within the construction industry.

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.

Work Environment

The schedule offers consistent work with reliable hours, and you will collaborate closely with a team-oriented group of laborers and machine operators in a safety-focused environment. 7AM start time - 3/5:30PM, opportunity for overtime.

This is a Contract position based out of Glen Allen, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
