ScottishPower are hiring a Senior Contracts Manager to lead the development and implementation of contract strategies for a high value / high complex contract portfolio for our Corporate Business Function, General Services UK to maximise contract value and mitigate risk.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Lead Contracts Manager, you’ll lead the end-to-end commercial contract cycle involving strategy, procurement, implementation, management and renewal phases of multi-million-pound contracts.
Bringing specialist knowledge of contract management, you’ll identify, manage and deliver competitive tendering strategies for a specific portfolio of contracts to support the business’ commercial and performance objectives, focusing on the higher value and/or more operationally complex contracts such as fleet leasing, fleet maintenance, capital delivery and/or FM.
Evaluate technical and commercial aspects of tender submissions and making recommendations
Lead the negotiation of the commercial aspects of designated contracts
Lead audits, assessment of designated suppliers and contractors to support ongoing development of contract strategies
Lead commercial meetings with Contractors to manage commercial risks, monitor claims and effective supplier relationship management.
Support the Lead Contracts Manager to deliver annual Opex and Capex budgets for the operational portfolio
Monitor and implement all contractual obligations and make commercial recommendations (including risks) to assist with the decision-making process
Management of outsourced service providers and personnel
Responsible for all aspects of contract governance and regular management reporting
What you'll bring
Educated to degree level in Financial, Procurement, Law, Quantity Surveying or Contract Management discipline or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable commercial contract and negotiation skills and experience of closing high value / high risk REVEX and CAPEX contracts in a project / operational environment with multiple interfaces and stakeholders
Open, inclusive, and approachable style of delivery; effective collaborator, coach and mentor to Contracts Managers
Demonstrable experience of negotiating contractual terms and conditions, including indemnities and warranties
Detailed understanding of contract management processes with experience of commercial contracts
Experience in completion of tender specification documents and tender assessment processes for commercial contracts
Minimum Criteria
At least 4 years’ experience working in a contract management or procurement role
