- Part time at the Campbell County Parks and Recreation Center.
Enforce pool rules and regulations courteous but firm manner, being helpful and friendly
to all patrons. Be alert at all times while on duty and preforming First Aid/CPR skills
when necessary.
- Flexible Scheduling, Free employee Rec Center membership, Free childcare 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Educate patrons to safely use the aquatic facility.
- Prevent incidents, injuries, and drownings by enforcing safe rules and regulations.
- Make rescues and administer proper care and treatment if an incident or injury occurs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Help with daily maintenance.
- Attends all required meetings and trainings.
- Act as a liaison between patrons and management.
- Report all incident to the supervisor.
- Performs related duties as required.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Certification Training is provided
- Lifeguard/CPR certified
- Water Safety Instructor
COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES
Knowledge of:
- Recreational pool equipment and facility operations
- Principles and practices of working safely
- Effectively perform lifeguarding skills and CPR
Skill in:
- Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships
- Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
- Communication, both oral and written
- Work well with peers
Ability to:
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
- Be a proficient swimmer.
- Ability to see, hear and voice directions to patrons in pool area.
- Able to get up and down from a lifeguard stand
- Able to stand and be at attention for scanning purposes for long periods of time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The position involves medium physical demands, such as exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Tolerate warm, humid conditions for long periods of time.
