TK Elevator Corporation Engineer II- Electrical (Germantown) in Germantown, Tennessee
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Requires the ability to evaluate/calculate/size/draw - All types of Overhead, basement, adjacent, and Hydraulic elevator electrical components and systems.
- Review proposed elevator systems to make sure they meet code and customer requirements.
- Must have the ability to accurate estimate engineering design time.
- Understands the manufacturing process.
- General understanding of the elevator installation process.
- Reads requirements and specifications to fully understand the systems required for the components being used.
- Generates designs per the outlined requirements and specifications.
- Evaluates and produces design solutions for the manufacturing of hydraulic and traction elevators.
- Relies on experience and judgment with limited instructions to plan and accomplish goals.
- Understands, uses, and maintains the tools required to support the engineered estimating team such as EVF, TLD, Rope life calculator, and others as required.
- Supports other contract electrical engineers, and coordinators as required.
- Supports and works with Electrical Principal Engineer. This may include providing training and writing ECOs.
- Works under moderate supervision for coaching, training, and skill development.
- Reports to the engineered estimating manager
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.
- Understands and uses the A17.1 elevator code as a basis for all designs.
- Adheres to all safety procedures and company safety standards.
- Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional.
- Contributes in a team environment.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent elevator experience required.
- 5+years of related experience
- Experience with Lean problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, A3, 8D, DMAIC, etc.) preferred.
- Comprehension of general Electrical engineering concepts required.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment.
- Possess strong decision-making abilities.
- Possess effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrated experience in using computer-assisted design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Blue Beam/Adobe Writer.
- Demonstrated experience with hands on technical wiring and assembly of mechanical equipment a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with the use of computer-assisted engineering tools and general knowledge of test equipment.
- Possess the ability to closely follow instructions and pre-established procedures/SOP to perform the functions of the job.
- Possess high-level awareness to make informed decisions to support business objectives.
