What we need:
The digital managing editor is responsible for supervising daily editorial activities, ensuring that high-quality, audience-centered content is produced across various digital platforms, such as websites, apps, and social media. This position will report directly to the VP of Content Creation (VPCC) while collaborating with our Editor-In-Chief.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing editorial staff
- Developing content strategies and calendars
- Editing content for clarity and quality
- Analyzing performance metrics
- Collaborating with marketing and other teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and maintain a consistent brand voice.
- Assign writing assignments to external and internal writing team
- Review Career Experts submitted content
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Strategy and Planning
- Develop and enhance editorial guidelines along with content calendars to ensure quality and brand consistency across all digital outlets.
Team Management
- Lead and oversee a team of writers, editors, and content creators, offering guidance, feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
Content Production
- Manage the creation and publication of various content types, including text, audio, video, and interactive formats, ensuring they meet quality standards and editorial deadlines.
Editing and Quality Assurance
- Review and approve final content, guaranteeing accuracy, appropriate tone, and compliance with company style guides and publishing standards.
Performance Analysis
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor content performance, identify trends, assess audience engagement, and guide future editorial decisions.
Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with VPC, marketing, sales, and product teams to align content strategy with overall business goals and support all campaigns.
REQUIREMENTS:
Tenure: a Minimum three years of experience in a Managing Editor role
Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred
Leadership: Demonstrated strong leadership skills to guide and inspire an editorial team effectively
