Job Title: Survey CAD Technician
Job Description
This position involves developing survey boundary, topographic, and control surveys, as well as construction stakeout using CAD/MicroStation platforms. The role requires receiving field data and transforming it into working drawings, existing conditions base sheets, and finished plats. The Survey Field and Office Technician will work under the direction of a Project Surveyor.
Responsibilities
Develop survey boundary, topographic, and control surveys.
Perform construction stakeout using CAD/MicroStation platforms.
Receive field data and transform it into working drawings, existing conditions base sheets, and finished plats.
Complete survey computations and prepare boundary, subdivision, easement plats, and legal descriptions.
Process topographic survey, control, and location survey information.
Prepare, understand, and complete drawings in accordance with project specifications and various industry survey standards.
Create preliminary and/or final sketches of proposed drawings using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment.
Modify drawings as directed by the project manager or project surveyor.
Work closely with other surveyors and engineers to ensure a coordinated design.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Surveying, Design, and Drafting.
Experience with Civil 3D, CAD, and Topography.
At least 2 years of experience working with AutoCAD in a surveying context.
At least 2 years of field surveying experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Interest in obtaining a surveying license is preferred but not required.
Ability to work with various industry survey standards.
Strong collaboration skills with surveyors and engineers.
Work Environment
The role offers a 50/50 mix of office and field work initially, eventually transitioning to a 100% office role in Germantown. The office is located in a beautiful new facility with around 40 employees.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
