Job Title: Nurse Supervisor
Unit: Acute Care – Med/Stroke Unit
Employment Type: Full-time / 36 hours weekly
Shift: 12 hour Day shift – with weekend and holiday rotation
Location: Germantown, Maryland
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Acute Care, the Nurse Supervisor is a designated clinical leader for a patient care area who works under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Department Director to plan and coordinate care at the service/department level.
Unit Overview
The Med/Stroke Unit is a 30-bed inpatient unit that is part of a new transformational care team model created to improve patient care and provide nurses and nurse assistants new opportunities and support.
As a Nurse Supervisor you will:
Cost effective decision-making regarding operations including utilization and application of resources. (i.e., human resources, patient care environment, supplies, etc.)
Directing and supervising professional and non-professional staff
Determining staff assignment and scheduling
Assuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Participating in the development of patient care standards and delivery of care processes.
Facilitating and participating in staff development, including orientation and training.
Participating in performance evaluation and management including verbal coaching and counseling.
Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the quality improvement and safety plan.
Maintaining a clinical environment that demonstrates service excellence.
Functioning as a professional role model and resource person.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board as a Registered Nurse
BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)
Bachelor’s in Nursing required; Master's degree in nursing preferred
Minimum of 3 years of specialty specific experience in an acute care setting.
Advanced computer skills to include data entry and retrieval, including Microsoft specialty products.
Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.
Ability to effectively communicate complex and comprehensive information thoroughly and succinctly
Competency in electronic patient management systems.
Preferred:
BSN or MSN preferred
Certified MS-RN in nursing recommended.

Referral Rewards Program
Pay Range: $43.36 – $62.67. Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
