Job Duties and Responsibilities
EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a ML Engineering Intern . This position will be located at our office in Germantown, MD.
Key Responsibilities:
Support data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering on datasets used for machine learning tasks
Assist with training, tuning, and evaluating simple ML models under guidance
Help test and validate models to ensure they perform as expected and support documentation of results
Participate in code reviews, collaborate with engineers, and contribute to team discussions
Learn and explore new AI/ML tools, libraries, and techniques relevant to ongoing projects
Assist with basic scripting and automation tasks to support data workflows
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
GPA 3.3 or above
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, in a related field of study
Must have 60 credit hours completed by May 2026
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic programming skills in Python (experience with libraries like scikit-learn, Pandas, or TensorFlow is a plus)
Familiarity with fundamental ML concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning and model evaluation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to learn new technologies
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
Coursework or personal projects involving machine learning or data analysis

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $51,000.00/Year - $73,000.00/Year
