The Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of pre‑construction, planning, scheduling, and execution for construction projects up to $15M in scope. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational goals. The Construction Project Manager collaborates closely with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve design conflicts, manage resources, and maintain high client satisfaction.
Responsibilities / AccountabilitiesProject Planning & Pre‑Construction
Lead the pre‑construction process, including preplanning, scope development, and scheduling.
Review and approve project budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Allocate manpower, equipment, and material resources while maintaining alignment with budgetary limitations.
Participate in design coordination and conflict resolution across all trades.
Project Execution & Management
Manage the full construction schedule and ensure timely execution of all project phases.
Develop and negotiate subcontractor agreements to support project success.
Oversee project financial performance, including cash flow, cost tracking, and overall job profitability.
Ensure accuracy of monthly cost reports and cost‑to‑complete projections.
Recognize, document, and process change orders when required.
Oversee submittals, RFIs, and change order submissions to maintain workflow continuity.
Approve supplier and subcontractor invoices.
Resource & Operations Management
Plan, identify, and manage CAD, fabrication, and field labor resources.
Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials, and logistics to maintain project efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and internal procedures.
Maintain safe and clean work environments throughout the project lifecycle.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project.
Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Participate in pursuing new business opportunities and preparing project SWOT analyses.
Leadership & Oversight
Provide direct oversight to Subcontractors, Project Engineers (PEs), and Assistant Project Managers (APMs).
Indirectly support subcontractor field personnel and internal support services.
Train estimating staff on the technical aspects of project management.
Coordinate daily with Superintendents to align field production with project goals.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven dependability and ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced construction environment.
High proficiency in document organization, project documentation, and workflow management.
Ability to quickly learn new systems and tools.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with AutoBid, Primavera P6 scheduling software, and Bluebeam (preferred).
Strong mechanical and MEP understanding.
Expertise in project management principles and construction industry practices.
Ability to conduct SWOT analyses for current and future project opportunities.
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field;
OR 10+ years of relevant experience or training;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience leading construction projects up to $15M in value.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
